The Select Committee of Tynwald on the Fireworks Act 2004, will be taking oral evidence on Wednesday 29th April 2020 at 2.30 pm and at 5 pm. This meeting will be held remotely via a video-conferencing platform. 

Evidence will be heard at 2.30 pm from Mrs Judith Corrin, whose public petition seeking revision of the Fireworks Act 2004 led to the resolution in the February 2020 sitting of Tynwald Court to form a Select Committee. This will be followed at 5 pm by the evidence of Mr Stuart Hamer, owner of Galaxy Fireworks IOM. 

The members of the Select Committee of Tynwald on the Fireworks Act 2004 appointed by Tynwald are Mrs Daphne Caine MHK, Mr Rob Callister MHK and Mrs Kate Lord-Brennan MLC. The Committee has elected Mrs Caine as its chair.

The Legislative Buildings remain closed to the public. The Committee, staff and witnesses will all participate remotely in this meeting. The evidence will be able to be heard via the livestream on the Tynwald website here. The recording will also be available after the session under the “Listen Again” section of the website here and a Hansard transcription will be published in due course.
