Tynwald Carol Service – Covid-19 Mitigations
09/12/2021The President of Tynwald, The Hon Laurence Skelly MLC, is pleased to confirm that plans are continuing to hold the Tynwald Carol Service at St Mary of the Isle, Hill Street, Douglas, on Thursday 16th December at 1.10 pm. However, in response to the raised alert status and in line with the Government’s advice with regard to mitigating the effects of Covid, the President of Tynwald asks that all those attending the Carol Service administer a lateral flow test before attending the church, wear a face covering for the duration of the service, and make full use of the space in the Church.
The music will be led by the Tynwald Choir, the Government Staff Choir and a brass group.
A retiring collection will be made for the Manx charities Graih and Housing Matters, and the service is expected to finish at approximately 2 pm. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to serve refreshments following the service.
The President of Tynwald thanks Monsignor John Devine and his team for their assistance during the preparations for the service.
