The Hon Steve Rodan OBE MLC, has released the below statement in his capacity as the President of Tynwald and the President of Royal British Legion (Isle of Man County). Mr President said:

“It is with much sorrow that we have learned of the passing of Hector Duff OBE BEM and recipient of the Tynwald Honour.

This great Manxman served his country with great distinction in time of war and peace, and will never be forgotten”.

A short tribute with minute’s silence was heard in Legislative Council this morning, and a fuller tribute will be paid at the next Tynwald sitting.
