Born: Isle of Man.
Education: Educated at Ballakermeen High School. Graduated with an MA in Modern History from St Catherine's College, University of Oxford. Qualified as a solicitor following two years at Chester College of Law, and a training contract at Eversheds, London.
Family: Married with two sons.
Career: Qualified solicitor, specialising in employment law. Advised a wide range of clients whilst at Eversheds, including a secondment to the UK Financial Services Authority. Subsequently worked at Simmons & Simmons, London providing employment law advice and HR-related training to clients. Following a secondment to UBS Investment Bank, became the principal in-house employment lawyer for UBS advising on HR matters across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Returned to the Isle of Man in 2005 and worked for a specialist consultancy providing employment law support and HR-related training for large multi-nationals. Held position of Isle of Man Legal Aid Deputy Certifying Officer 2007-2010.
Public Service: Voluntary Director and Trustee of Isle of Pride since September 2019 and voluntary Trustee of St Christopher's Isle of Man. Parent Governor at Marown Primary School 2015-2018; Leader for 1st Marown Beaver Scouts 2011-2016. Involved in supporting and fundraising for Western Vikings RUFC and Crosby Cricket Club.
Interests: Music and theatre, member of local choir Musicale, walking, Pilates, and swimming.
