Keys Election: Candidates’ Experiences Sought

Candidates in the 2021 House of Keys General Election are being invited to respond to a questionnaire about their experience of the political process. Questions include how they first became interested in politics, what encouragement they received, and what support they would have liked to have had.

The questions have been devised by the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians of the British Islands and Mediterranean Region of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (BIMR CWP). Responses from women will be forwarded to BIMR CWP where they will form part of a wider survey on women’s participation in politics in a number of jurisdictions.

At the request of the Isle of Man representative on the BIMR CWP Steering Committee, Mrs Ann Corlett MHK, responses in this jurisdiction are being sought from candidates of any gender. These will be separately analysed by the Isle of Man Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

Once an election is completed, up-to-date contact details are not held for former candidates. Therefore anyone who is in touch with a former candidate is encouraged to draw this information to their attention.

The questionnaire can be downloaded here and responses are requested by 4 January 2022.
