Third Lockdown: Committee to hear Oral Evidence

​The Social Affairs Policy Review Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, will be taking oral evidence on Monday 19th April 2021.

Evidence will be heard from the following persons at 10.30am:

Dr Alex Allinson MHK, Minister for Education, Sport and Culture
Mr David Ashford MHK, Minister for Health and Social Care
Mr Will Greenhow, Chief Secretary
Mr Graham Kinrade, Chief Executive Officer, Department of Education, Sport and Culture
Ms Kathryn Magson, Interim Chief Executive Officer, Department of Health and Social Care
Dr Henrietta Ewart, Director of Public Health, Cabinet Office

The focus of the hearing will be on decisions made in late February and early March at the beginning of the Island’s third lockdown.

The members of the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee appointed by Tynwald are Ms Julie Edge MHK (Chair), Mr Martyn Perkins MHK and Mr Peter Greenhill MLC. Further information about the work of the Committee can be found on its webpage here.

A decision has yet to be taken as to whether the Committee will sit physically in the Legislative Council Chamber or remotely via MS Teams. Either way it will be possible for the public to hear the evidence via the “live and listen again” audio webcast service on the Tynwald website here.
