Grandparents' Rights : Petitioners to appear before Committee

The Social Affairs Policy Review Committee, a Standing Committee of Tynwald, will be taking oral evidence on Monday 4th May 2020 at 10am. This meeting will be held remotely via a video-conferencing platform.

Evidence will be heard from Mr Terry Miles and Mrs Heather Miles, whose Petition for Redress of Grievance on the rights of grandparents was referred to the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee by a resolution of Tynwald Court in November 2019.

The members of the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee appointed by Tynwald are Mr Martyn Perkins MHK and Ms Julie Edge MHK.

The Legislative Buildings remain closed to the public. The Committee, staff and witnesses will all participate remotely in this meeting. The evidence will be able to be heard via the livestream on the Tynwald website here. The recording will also be available after the session under the “Listen Again” section of the website here and a Hansard transcription will be published in due course.
